Super Stars have no shame, says popular singer Priya Suriyasena.

He was commenting on contestants in reality TV shows who sing songs of other artists.

Noting that they would not do so if they had any sense of shame, Mr. Suriyasena has said that such persons will end up among hoots of spectators.

He has also mentioned that the ownership rights of his songs should be passed on to his son following his death.

Adding that he has even informed the parliament regarding such copyright infringements, Mr. Suriyasena has further said that prevailing laws are not sufficient to arrest the perpetrators.

Mr. Suriyasena is a father of four. His eldest daughter is a doctor and second daughter is an executive officer at a bank while his son is studying for a doctorate in America and his youngest daughter is expecting university entrance.

Popular Indian soap actress Shweta Tiwari stepped into a new stage in life as she married her longterm boyfriend - Abhinav Kohli over the weekend.

The marriage took place as per Punjabi and North Indian rituals.

The bride was dressed in a traditional bridal red lehenga and looked radiant as she posed for photographs with her new hubby .

The wedding ceremony was attended by family and a few close friends from the entertainment industry.

Shweta was earlier married to actor Raja Chaudhary, has a daughter named Palak.

Miss Sri Lanka for Miss World 2013 has been crowned. Iresha Asanki was named the winner of this year's ‘Siyatha –Lux Miss Sri Lanka 2013’ at the final pageant held at Hilton hotel, Colombo.

She defeated 11 other young ladies including first runner-up Chulakshi Ranathunga and second runner-up Sharon Huyghebaert to win the crown and the opportunity to represent her country at the 2013 Miss World Pageant this September in Indonesia.

Iresha who is a resident of Ratmalana ,who has been educated in Buddhist Ladies College in Colombo, and she is currently working as a model.

Popular actor Jackson Anthony recently celebrated his 55th birthday in a most singular way, ‘Sri Lanka Mirror’ learns.

He has celebrated it with senior citizens at the St Vincent De Paul Home For Elders, Kandana.

Jackson, who is said to have never held a birthday party for himself, has always celebrated the day with his mother, reports say.

After her passing away, he has chosen to celebrate it with people like her.

It is reported that famous singer and actress Natasha Perera has received a marriage proposal from a Sri Lankan living in Australia.

It is said that the proposal has been made by a relative of Manjula Pathirage, a friend of singer Ranil Mallawarachchi.

But unfortunately Natasha has not given her consent to the proposal.

However her grand mother, Manel Amarasena has not Given up her quest to seek a suitable groom for her grand daughter.

Meanwhile word in the field is that Natasha's boyfriend is young singer Prihan.

Natasha spent much of her childhood after coming to Sri Lanka from Italy as an infant, with her grand mother.

Natasha is currently engaged in legal studies.

Sri Lankan beauty queen and popular Bollywood actress Jacqueline Fernandez has pitched in for a Sri Lankan movie, reports say.

The movie, 'According To Matthew’, is about Father Mathew Peiris, a Christian priest who murdered his wife and the husband of his mistress.

Director Chandran Rutnam says that he had the good fortune of having Jacqueline Fernandez to play the role of the mistress who aided Father Mathew in the murder plot.

“I found Jacqueline to be an excellent actress. She was serious about the role and always focused. I saw a great future for her as an international star and I hope this movie, which is a Hollywood, Australian, Sri Lankan co-production and shot in English will be her calling card to Hollywood,” he said.

The film is set to release internationally early next year.

Beyonce has soldiered through a concert in Montreal after her hair got tangled in the blades of a fan.

The pop star was performing Halo from an audience pit when the incident happened.

She continued to sing her encore while security guards tried to extract her from the fan, which was mounted on the edge of the stage.

Several people caught the mishap on video and the singer later joked about it on her social media accounts.

She posted a handwritten note on Instagram reworking the lyrics to Halo to include the line: "Gravity can't begin to pull me out of the fan again."

The singer's Mrs Carter Show world tour, which began in Belgrade in April, runs until December.

Raini Charuka, the eldest daughter of popular singers - Rookantha Gunatillake and Chandralekha Perera is romantically involved with a DJ, reports say.

The duo had met in US and has been best friends before starting to date.

However, Raini says that she has still received only 98% permission from her parents.

Raini adds that though she is not reluctant to reveal who he is, she is not so sure whether he would exactly like that.

It is said that this is their first public appearance as a couple after getting engaged.

She is currently working at the Hiru TV institute of ABC media network, belonging to Vincent's brother.

Aruni had previously disclosed that she had been having affairs with a businessman in Kandy, an MP in Kandy and also with a media head.

It is reported to Sri Lanka Mirror that inside conflicts have started ins the "Pipena Mal" tele drama teecast in Derana TV channel every week day at 8.00pm.

It is said that the disputes have stated due to its actress Maheshi Madushanka.

It is said that due to her influence, a director of the tele drama was swept out and now even the production manager has had to quit.

Not even stopping from that, even her driver is now said to be jobless due to her work.

The reason for all this is that these people had had close relationships with Maheshi, field sources say.

It is reported that famous cinema, stage and tele actor and comedian Mr. Bandu Samarasinghe having to appear before the Nugegoda magistrate court because of giving a invalid cheque.

It is said that he has given this cheque to pay a fee for a car repair.

But when inquired by Sri Lanka Mirror, Bandu said that even he does not know such a thing and asked the mirror to dig out the truth as he was not the one who published such news.

When asked whether this is a mud slinging towards Bandu Samarasinghe, he replied that he does not understand anything about it.

Manel Chandralatha, who was the long time silver screen girlfriend of Freddy Silva, the comedian in Sinhala cinema has returned to Sri Lanka after 9 years.

She had been working in Cyprus for nearly 9 years and there she had taken part in Sriyani Amarasena's "Noratha Ratha" tele drama.

It is said to be telecasted soon.

She says that she will not go abroad again and that she is hoping to join the Cinema again.

She says that due to her undying thirst for acting, she had made requests from many famous actors at that time to give her a chance to act, but it was only Freddy who gave her a chance.

She entered her broad way acting career from Freddy Silva's "Manthree" drama and its director was Chandradasa Fernando.

After that she has contributed to 60 movies between 1988-2003.

She says that it was her who was the 2nd heroine of Freddy Silva, first being Samanthi Lanarol.

Her last movie had been "Vala in London".

When asked why she is so closed to Freddy Silva, she said that he is the share holder of her fame and that compared to what she lost to him, what she gained was immense.

Laksala, the oldest and best known gift and souvenir boutique for authentic Sri Lankan artifacts opened its landmark store at the Colombo Museum premises yesterday (01).

The store - positioned as the "Laksala Museum Gallery Cafe" was opened under the auspices of Economic Development minister - Basil Rajapaksa.

He was accompanies by a host of distinguished guests including Minister of National Heritage - Jagath Balasuriya and Minister of Botanical Gardens and Public Recreation - Jayarathne Herath.

Cabinet has approved Rs. 220 million for the "Laksala Museum Gallery Cafe", conceived under the Divi Neguma social development scheme. Approximately a sum of Rs. 185 million has been spent for the first phase with the balance to be utilized for future expansions and necessary developments.

Over 30,000 items supplied from around the island are available in the store. These include products ranging from : wood craft, brassware, leather, ceramics, batiks, handloons and many more. The fully air conditioned sales outlet also gas a cultural display unit, a gem gallery and facilities such as a rest area, coffee shop and restaurant for tourists.

Sheryl Romen Decker has confirmed that she has quit from the role "Damsari" in the 5 day tele drama Damsari in Swarnawahini.

She had made this confirmation while giving an interview for the Lakbima Sunday news paper.

However, even though she had told that her dispute is with the drama crew, not with Swarnawahini, we declare with responsibility that it is the Swarnawahini which is doing the production of the tele drama.

And her claim to have quit the job her self without being fired is also reported to be untrue.

A chief in the drama crew told Sri Lanka Mirror that Sheryl was removed by the crew.
